A closer view of the priestess in Doorway of Light - Interupted.
No idea what I did to the scene, but this took 11 hours to render at the download res (and this was the second attempt). Oh well, still learning. As before, any comments are greatly appreciated to help me improve! |

Some of the biggest killers of render time are ray traced shadows, transparencies, and complicated shadows.

None of the first, or the last (I think only one light had shadows, deep shadow map).
From what I saw of the process, the slow part seemed to be the red orb (that's the transparency for you, thanks for the tip), but even longer seemed to be the bottom of the pic for some reason. Not sure if it is something I did, or something to do with the Tennia pants texture (or both), but the last 10% of the render took 5-6 of those hours.
